Live 40-day Kundalini Yoga Sadhanas

Let’s embark on a journey of yoga and meditation together for 40 days. A journey deep within, connecting you to your authentic Self and spirit. Experience powerful subconscious clearing, reprogram your automatic behaviour and implement new healthy habits.

What is Sadhana?

Sadhana is what we yogis call the daily spiritual practice of yoga and meditation. It is a conscious choice for a constant and regular practice through all the ups and downs of life. As a daily practice, sadhana is great for building self-discipline, keeping yourself centred and your magnetic field strong. It is a beautiful invitation to meet yourself at wherever you are that day. Through sadhana, you calm your mind, sharpen its focus and function and gain discernment to recognise the real, hear the inner word and to follow the impulse of the heart – the path of dharma.

Why so early in the morning?

In Kundalini, we aim to practice Sadhana before sunrise, during the Amrit Vela. By practising so early in the morning, we have the chance to meet ourselves and connect deeply with spirit before the usual distractions of the world awake. At this time, melatonin levels in our bodies make it possible to enter a meditative or dream state more easily. In this state, subconscious clearing can take place. This will happen, whether we are awake or not. However, by meditating consciously during the Amrit Vela, the process of opening and cleansing the subconscious mind can be amplified and accelerated. 

Why 40 days?

On a soul-level, we are all whole, divine and perfect. But we don’t always act from that place. Most of our actions are dictated by the subconscious mind and its habits. A habit is like an automatic chain reaction, that is developed from a very young age. Some of them serve our highest destiny. Some of them do not. Our habits define us to ourselves and to other people. By our habits, we live in peace and happiness. By our habits, we create misery and pain. By doing a 40 sadhana, you can rewire that chain reaction. You can develop new, deeply ingrained habits that serve your highest good. When we change our habits, everything around us can change, too.

You can join the live practice every day or pick and choose days however it suits you. The more you commit to this journey and show up daily, however, the better your results will be.

How is Sadhana different from my weekly yoga classes?

In classes, I hold the space for you and your process. I assist you verbally and energetically so that you can get the most out of the lesson. It is all about you and your experience. In Sadhana, however, I share the space and my practice with you. That means, I give the instructions and then we will all be practising alongside each other. There will be less talking, and no correcting or encouraging to really allow you and me to go deep within and connect with spirit. Of course, you are still more than welcome to ask any questions or stay for a little chat after sadhana. This is something you should be aware of before joining and also why participation in sadhana is free/donation-based.

The significance of this kriya:

In Numerology, 2021 is considered a 5-year (2+0+2+1). In Kundalini Yoga, 5 relates to the fifth spiritual body, the physical body, which makes the new year a perfect time to really focus on our bodies, our physical health and wellbeing. 

Our physical body is more than just mere flesh and blood, it is the vessel our soul chose to experience this lifetime. While learning and knowing satisfies the mind, to satisfy the soul and spirit, we need practical experiences. That’s one emphasis of the Age of Aquarius, the age of experience, expertise and expansion.

This spiritual body, in particular, is connected to our 5th chakra, the throat chakra. Speaking your truth and deep listening with all your senses are the gifts of the fifth body.

It is also connected to the Nervous System, which is neither body nor mind, but both, and with that ties in beautifully with the themes of the fifth body: balance, homeostasis, transformation and alchemy.

The physical body teaches us the power of sacrifice, a word that has a rather negative meaning attached to it these days but in its purest sense literally means ‘to make sacred’ and which is one of the basic principles of growth and evolution: sacrificing one state in order to move to another.

The mantra of this body is: “All parts of my being and my life are balanced and in harmony. I deeply know the sacredness of all experiences and I share that awareness with others.”

From a more scientific standpoint, the body is the place where a lot of stress, tensions as well as physical and emotional trauma is stored. This is true in general, but especially during the tumultuous time that was 2020, most of our bodies have been in a constant state of stress fueled by our worries and anxieties. 

We want to move out this old, stagnant energy that no longer serves us and make room for the new, expansive energy that the New Year and the Age of Aquarius are bringing us. Practising this kriya for 40 days will be like an energetic spring cleaning, leaving you wide open and receptive for massive growth, transformation and miracles.
